Guided Bow River Fly Fishing Trips

The most efficient way to fly fish the Bow River is from a drift boat. Fly fishing the Bow River from a drift boat allows the angler to cover more water, and enables access to areas that would otherwise be unreachable walking or wading. Guided Bow River Fly fishing drift boat trips are offered in full, half and multiple day excursions. All trips include client pick up and drop off at requested location and fly fishing instruction for beginner anglers. Drift boat trip Rates are listed below.

*Please note that all trips do not include the cost of:
Alberta fishing license, flies, leaders or gratuities for your guide. Although is customary to tip your guide at the end of the day it is not required and left strictly to the client’s discretion. All gratuities are greatly appreciated by our guide staff.

 

Full Day Bow River Fly Fishing Float

Full days can last anywhere from 8-12 hours depending on river conditions, and the clients schedule. The rate for a single boat, 1 or 2 people is $525 CDN plus applicable taxes.

Full day floats include:

  • Required gear (rods and reels)
  • Deli style lunch and snacks (please notify in advance of any existing allergies)
  • Non- Alcoholic beverages
  • Guide catering to specific clients needs and abilities
  • Pick up and Drop off transportation

Half-Day Bow River Fly Fishing Float

Half-day trips usually last from 4-6 hours depending on river conditions, and the client’s schedule. The rate for a single boat, 1 or 2 people is $400 CDN plus applicable taxes.

Half-Day trips include:

  • Required gear (rods and reels)
  • Non- Alcoholic beverages
  • Guide catering to specific clients needs and abilities
  • Pick up and Drop off transportation

 

What to bring along with you

Weather conditions on the Bow River can change quickly and with little notice, it is important to be prepared for extreme conditions. All clients should bring the following items to ensure a comfortable trip.

  • Water proof rain jacket
  • Warm jacket or sweater
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug spray
  • Hat
  • Polarized sunglass
  • Any extra specialty snacks or beverages

Fishing Gear

If you wish to bring your own gear the following is recommended Please recognize that drift boat storage space is limited.

  • 5 or 6 weight rod and reel with floating line (Dry fly and Nymph fishing)
  • 6 or 7 weight rod and reel with sinking line, or sink tip line (Streamer fishing)
  • Waders and boots
  • Any additional flies and tackle you might want to use
